We constantly hear, read or discuss about changing attitudes at workplace – and more specifically, the evolution of the current workforce. Who are these individuals, and why have they gained so much of importance of late?

GE and P&G once again occupy the first two steps of the podium. And many others from 2010 remain highly rated: McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Accenture, Siemens, Wal-Mart, Unilever, Microsoft, PepsiCo and Southwest Airlines all feature again this year. Microsoft has climbed the list to #4, while IBM has rocketed to #3 from an honorable mention in 2010. Nestle and 3M have made similar strides while Toyota and Johnson & Johnson have jumped from outside the list to high rankings.

I was recently chosen to mentor at an event that inspired creative(s) - comprising of software  / app developers, creative professionals and business professionals – to solve pressing socio-economic challenges through generating tech-oriented solutions in Nairobi, Kenya. The excitement, exchange of ideas and leveraging of knowledge were cues that highly impressed me, not forgetting the tenacity amongst individuals that I witnessed.

Strategy misalignment is subtle and sometimes difficult to spot.  Yet without a properly aligned corporate strategy, you are likely to introduce a serious dose of chaos into the organizational environment.
