JOB TITLE:
Senior Business Development Manager

RERORTING TO:
Head of Sales

JOB PURPOSE:
To actively contribute to meeting and exceeding sales targets whilst providing a consistent professional approach through the highest standards of products and service.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Five (5) years working under the corporate sales function with experience in developing and maintaining relationships with business owners, managing directors / chief executive officers, procurements heads, architects, consultants and/or contractors. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

§  Source and develop business leads.

§  Develop and maintain relationships with business owners, managing directors / chief executive officers, procurement heads, architects, consultants and contractors. Provide customers with quotations.

§  Negotiate the terms of an agreement and close sales.

§  Gather market and customer information and provide feedback on buying trends.

§  Represent your organization at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations.

§  Identify new markets and business opportunities.

§  Record sales and send copies to the sales office.

§  Tele-market, correspond and meet with current and prospective customers.

§  Maintain long-term consultative relationship with clients for repeat business.

§  Any other duties assigned by immediate supervisor under the ‘Sales’ function.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

§  B.A. in Sales and Marketing or other related fields.

§  Meet and exceed sales goals.

§  Focus on results and have a strong work ethic.

§  Good presentation skills and etiquette.

§  A confident and determined approach.

§  Fluency in English and Swahili both written and spoken.

§  Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to a diverse audience.

§  Demonstrate the highest level of ethical behavior.

§  Computer skills, including e-mail, word processing and spreadsheets.

§  Knowledge on Furniture industry will be an added value.

§  Leadership:

▪           Reflect and promote professionalism in all aspects of the business.

▪           Ensure all employees of the company are treated with respect and courtesy.

▪           Actively encourage open lines of communication.

▪           Manage time appropriately to the needs of the business

▪           Participate and lead in special projects as requested by management

▪           Ensure development of personnel capabilities throughout the department structure
